joining our two communities as never before.

Sunday 3 June

10.30 to 10.55 am Grand Parade to the Service in Rectory Garden
Assembly Points: Goring: Cleeve Rd. Streatley: St Mary’s Church.
All local organisations are welcome and are encouraged to join in.

11.30 to 11.45 am Thanksgiving Service
Venue - Rectory Garden. Service of Thanksgiving with all three churches taking part.
Followed by a brief ceremony to “top out” Goring’s new Village Sign with ‘EIIR 2012’.

12.00 to 4.00 pm ‘The Big Jubilee Lunch’ Street Party - Joining Goring with Streatley
Venue - Goring and Streatley High Streets, including the bridge in between. Possibly the longest Jubilee street party in England, spanning two counties! Tables are proivided but BYO chairs and lunch (or buy in High St). Roving musicians & street entertainers.
(Road closure applied for between Cleeve Road, Goring & Streatley traffic lights)

4.45 to 6.00 pm Carnival Procession of Decorated Floats
Venue - Assembly & Starting Point - Streatley High Street or Streatley Meadows.
An opportunity for all clubs, organisations and businesses to show their colours!
Dressed lorries & vehicles, trailers, horse-drawn carriages, carts & wheel barrows.
4.30pm Judging of floats. 4.45pm Floats proceed across bridge to Goring.
Destination - Cleeve Road, Goring.

7.30 to 11.45 pm Jubilee ‘Variety Show’
Venue - The Concert arena, Gardiner Field, Cleeve Road, Goring.
BYO picnic and chairs (no tables please). Dress code - ‘Patriotic’
Music, dance, theatre & comedy - by the very best of our local performers.

Monday 4 June

11.00 to 1.30 pm Water Pageant (Flotilla and Family Raft Races)
Venue - River & Towpath (Downstream of Lock between Bridge and Ferry Lane)
Flotilla of dressed boats sailing past, followed by fun Family Raft Races.

1.30 to 4.30 pm Junior Olympics & Alfresco Lunch
Venue - The Ferry House Island Field (behind hedge of towpath) (with kind permission from Philip & Peta Buscombe)
Sports day for children and the whole family, along with associated entertainment.
Enjoy lunch here at the various food stalls providing ‘Tastes of the Commonwealth’.

9.30 to 11.30 pm Torchlight Finale ‘Last Nght at the Proms’ & Jubilee Beacon’
Sunset 9.12 pm
Venue: Streatley Meadow. Ceremonial lighting of the ’flaming E II R’ on Lardon Chase
and the ‘Jubilee Beacon’. Followed by the mass lighting of wax torches and
a rousing, flag-waving, torchlight ‘Last Night at the Proms’ sing-along concert
with the G & S Concert Band & the Joint Choirs of Goring & Streatley.
